We are finally getting the first look at the CBS Silence of the Lambs spinoff TV series announced in January this year in the form of an official trailer.
Aptly named Clarice, the show will focus on the experience of FBI agent Clarice Starling (played by Rebecca Breeds of Pretty Little Liars), promising a deep dive into Starling’s career as she returns to pursuing serial murderers in 1993, a year after her encounter with Hannibal Lecter.
The teaser shows rural crime scenes and a grisly flashback to human flesh being sewn together in the original film, with a voiceover asking: “What do you do with all your rage?”
The series is created by producer Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek) and writer Jenny Lumet (Rachel Getting Married).
“Hannibal is an incredible character,” Kurtzman says in an October interview with the Hollywood Reporter. “But Clarice Starling has a truly unique amazing psychology, and part of why Silence of the Lambs was so wonderful is the film put you so squarely in her shoes.”
Clarice is set to debut on CBS next year, on February 11. Watch the trailer below.
